International Business Forum
23/09/2009
deliciouslyorkshire, the consumer brand for the Regional Food Group for Yorkshire and Humber (RFG) has sourced some of the region’s top chefs to design the menu for the annual International Business Forum (IBF), held 23-24 September 2009 at the Spa complex, Scarborough.
Swinton Park’s Executive Chef Simon Crannage and Stephanie Moon at the award-winning Clocktower in Rudding Park will be working together to provide a quality menu at the Sustainable Networking Dinner, sponsored by Nynet.
The menu will be designed with produce and ingredients from deliciouslyorkshire members including Givendale Prime Beef, Bleikers Smokehouse, Lowna Dairies, venison from Swinton park, Herbs Unlimited, cider brandy from Ampleforth and winter greens from Stuarts Foods. The producers are all local to Yorkshire, ensuring low food miles and the freshest produce.
The experienced chefs will work with students from catering colleges Thomas Danby in Leeds and Yorkshire Coast College, helping the trainees get a taste of what it’s like to develop a menu and serve hundreds of people.
Consultant Chef for Rudding Park, Stephanie Moon says: “I am honoured to help put the menu together for Scarborough’s business leaders and entrepreneurs. The area is known for its fresh seafood and being able to source produce for a regional menu is an extremely worthwhile endeavour. I’m glad I can play a part in helping to highlight local businesses and the hard work involved in being a regional food producer.”
The dinner for 350 guests will be held on the sea front during the two day event. There will be ten awards presented on the night, including Regional Producer of the Year which is sponsored by deliciouslyorkshire.
IBF was launched last year, in partnership with the Scarborough Business Association (SBA), to help link business and learning in the region as well as showcase innovation enterprise and sustainability.
