The Chartered Institute of Marketing invites the Yorkshire Agricultural Society to reveal the marketing successes of the much-loved Great Yorkshire Show

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s Marketing Manager, Deborah Goodall, to share the secrets to the Great Yorkshire Show’s success
Since 1837 the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS) has promoted and developed the best of food and farming in the region. With over 10,000 members the YAS is also well known for running the Great Yorkshire Show (GYS). 2010 will see the 152nd Great Yorkshire Show with exhibitors coming from all over the UK and 130,000 visitors, making GYS England’s largest agricultural show. Innovation, with a strong sense of traditional values has been the key to its success.
Deborah Goodall, Marketing Manager for the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, will share the secrets to pulling off England’s biggest event of the year at The Chartered Institute of Marketing, from planning to process to delivery. She will talk about how The Great Yorkshire Show has kept, and still keeps, itself at the heart of English food and farming.
The value of the support it provides to regional farming and countryside initiatives has risen year on year to nearly £1m. The Society plays a key role in supporting rural life, through grants, sponsorships and has a very active education department which runs a wide range of activities aimed at increasing the knowledge of young people and their teachers about the important role farmers play in producing our food and caring for the landscape.
Registration is from 18.00, the event begins at 19.00 and is expected to finish at 20.00.
