Cooking Bus

The Regional Food Group are committed to working with education providers to make available practical learning materials to engage with teachers and students and to inspire young people to choose food and drink manufacturing as a career.
The Cooking Bus, a Focus on Food project, is an exciting and hands-on experience for teachers and students to learn the practical aspects of food. This is a Yorkshire Forward project that The Regional Food Group works closely with. The bus has a fully fitted kitchen which is used for both teacher and pupil training. It is available to schools in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
The cooking bus has been described as “a huge trailer complete with a full size, hi-tech teaching kitchen” that travels around schools in Yorkshire and the Humber. It was launched in June 2005, and allows young people to get hands-on experience of cooking by introducing them to top chefs and challenging their perceptions of the industry.
