Traditional Yorkshire Scones

Method

  1. Place all dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Rub in butter until it resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Add eggs and enough milk to bind into soft dough.
  4. Roll out mixture and cut in rounds.
  5. Place on a baking tray and wash the top of scones with beaten egg.
  6. Bake in oven at 180c for 20 minutes.

  • 500 g plain flour
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 125g butter
  • 25g baking powder
  • A handful of sultanas
  • 3 eggs (1 for egg wash)
  • A dash of milk

could you clarify please whether it’s 3 eggs plus one for egg wash, or 3 eggs - 2 in mix and one for wash?
